Map of the world including many decorative features. Incorporates many classic misconceptions of 17th century cartography, including the elongated northwest coast of America, massive southern land known as Terra Australis Incognita covering most of the southern hemisphere with New Guinea as a peninsula, continents out of proportion. Noted for its detailed border decorations - along the top are the seven planets including the Sun and the Moon; on the left side are the four elements (Ignis, Aer, Aqua, Terra); along the right side, the four season (Ver, Aestas, Autumnus, Hyems); along the bottom, the seven wonders of the world (Gardens of Bablyon, Colossus of Rhodes, Pyramids of Egypt, Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, Temple of Diana, Statue of Zeus, Lighthouse of Pharos).

Dedication signed by 'Guilj. Blaeuw' in decorative cartouche on bottom right of map.
