Folkloric recording. Morrison speaks of the births of his early family members, how the years 1932-1934 were hard on the family demanding his father travel wherever he could find a job and send money home, how they lived at a fishing camp and later went dairy farming, recounts the 1934 Flood, how there was plenty of food available even if only beans for dinner, entertainment was listening to the radio and reading, recalls his mother's and father's lives, his schooling from age 7 to high school, describes his working life with his first job logging with his father, grocery work, working in a bakery in 1940, joining the Navy in World War II and stationed in the East and South West Pacific, the Coral Sea Battle, terror of invasion by the Japanese, after Navy he drove trucks transporting timber and vegetables, describes the timber industry developing in East Gippsland, how he helped his brother in a bakery/restaurant business in 1949.
He then talks about how his forestry career began and the technology used in logging, the need for more control and management of our forests, how he became a ranger of four national parks in the Victorian National Parks Service and how the Service grew from the 1970s with the formation of new parks, why the national parks became a success, the philosophy behind the national park movement and the arguments opposed to them, how he became Warden of Archaeological Artifacts, stories about some of the characters he met in the bush.
