- Notes:
-
- Military map of one section of the southern side of the Russian town of Sebastopol in the Ukraine at the time of the year-long siege by the French and the British in 1854-55 during the Crimean War. The map focuses on one point of the southern fortified wall identified as the Malakoff Bastion close to the French trenches. A detailed sketch inside of the wall noting their defenses is provided. The second sheet analyses the tower from different angles. The third sheet provides a visual orientation of the city and its immediate surrounding from the southern viewpoint. Limited relief is shown by shading.
- Consists of maps and detailed illustrations in sketch form.
- On sheet 3 each sketch is marked: Jas. Ferguson, lith.
- Plate XVI and XVIA from: Report of the Siege of Sebastopol.
