- Summary:
-
"Chalet Road, Bendora Hill at 1245 hrs, 11:01:2003. The westerly spread of the Bendora fire was to be contained below Chalet Road on Bendora Hill, where crews from Jerrabomberra and Parks brigades were assigned to prevent the free lateral spread of the southern flank from crossing onto the upper slopes. Just after midday on 11th January 2003, a sudden flare-up in flashy fuels threw firebrands upslope and started a string of spotfires that eventually ran to the summit area later in the day"--Note from the photographer.
