Notes

Coastal profiles of Cape Serdtse Kamen, Kamchatka Peninsula and Avacha Bay taken by James Cook's lieutenants Clerke and Gore. Following Cook's death in Hawaii in February 1779, they sailed his ships the Resolution and Discovery to Kamtchatka, a peninsula off Russia's eastern Siberian coast, where these views were drawn.
