- Map of the Pacific Area featuring in particular the Pacific islands, in particular, the sea tracks of European explorers including Anson (1743), Bering (1728; 1741), Bougainville (1769), Byron (1765), Clerke (who took over after Cook's death for the period 1779-1780), Cook (1769-1773; 1777-78), Furneaux (1773-74), Krusenstern (1804), La Perouse (1788), La Recherche (1792), Magellan (1521), Marchand (1791), and Vancouver (1791). Historical notes of discoveries are also included. Australia is shown as Nouvelle Hollande, ou Notasie. The map is intricate and heavily annotated with placenames. Decorative features include a cartouche title and handcoloured perimeters of landmasses. Relief shown by hachures.
