Fulton played in 20 tests for Australia (1970-1978) in 15 matches in 3 World Cups (1968, 1970 and 1972) and in the World Championship in 1975. He captained Australia in 1978. He represented NSW in 16 games (1967-78) and played a major part in helping his club side, Manly, to win their first 3 premierships in 1972, 1973 and 1976. After retiring from playing he had a successful career as a coach.
