Folkloric recording. Daphne Scott and Gwen Price are sisters who grew up in the now submerged town of Banksiadale, WA. They speak of the school, mill and other aspects of the town before the it was submerged by a government dam in the 1970's. Daphne talks about the lack of opportunities for girls after leaving school and her employment in a munitions factory during WWII. Gwen speaks about going to dances; the Druids Ball and women becoming accepted within the Druids Lodge; the attraction of Banksiadale and its demise; finding orchids.
