Small exercise book (notes cover 16 p.) containing list of words and phrases used by descendants of Pitcairn Islanders on Norfolk Island. Book lists 'Norfolk expressions' and English translation; letter from Pinney to Kenneth Binns, 23 December 1937, enclosing the vocabulary and discussing the education of Norfolk Islanders. The vocabulary was placed in a Library correspondence file and was discovered in 2006.

Captain Charles Robert Pinney, M.C., was Administrator of Norfolk Island from 1932 to 1937. He died in Sydney on November 18, 1945, aged 62.
