MS Acc02.070 comprises Memoirs: interviews with politicians (undated), Memoirs: one of Packer's boys (undated), Memoirs: lobbying for the rag trade (undated), menu of Queen Elizabeth II's tour of Australia, 1953-1955, three mounted photographs of politicians, letter to Aitchison from Senator Steele Hall, 1974, "A family foreword", and, copies of OPAC entries relating to Aitchison (1 box).
The Acc02.120 instalment includes diaries, letters, papers relating to ABC regional news, book reviews, press clippings, photographs, short stories, a play and publications (3 boxes, 1 carton).
The Acc02.294 instalment comprises two letters from Kylie Tennant, manuscript for a "political school book", photographs and a CD of a draft of memoirs, and 50 unpublished short stories (1 box).
The Acc13.048 instalment comprises parts one to four of Aitchison's memoirs as well as a three-part article on the 1927 Dole air race on two computer discs. Three editions of Wings magazine are also contained in the accession with a hardcopy version of the of Dole air race article (1 packet).
The Acc17.067 instalment comprises correspondence, notes, ephemera, cuttings and other printed material, primarily relating to Aitchison's work with trade and commerce; copies of Aitchison's memoirs; and a handwritten statement by Arthur Calwell (4 archives boxes).

Political historian, oral history interviewer, journalist and novelist. Ray Aitchison has conducted numerous interviews for the National Library of Australia Oral History collection including with Constable Kym Chilton and Aboriginal tracker Wilson James; Alec Fong Lim, Lord Mayor of Darwin; Bill Neidjie, Aboriginal author, tribal leader and teacher; and, William McMahon, federal politician and former Prime Minister. Aitchison's publications include, From Bob to bungles: people in politics, 1966-70 (1970), Americans in Australia (1972), and, The struggle for markets (1976).
