- Topographic map of Canberra region and Queanbeyan with some cadastral detail used as a base map and modified by regional colouring (though the map lacks a key to explain the colours) then superimposed with a number of annotations. First a square encompasses the developmental region around the city of Canberra in the 1910s with another smaller square inside the larger and encompassing the city limits which extended only to Red Hill in the south in the 1910s. Two lines, one from the Cotter Dam and another from Mt. Stromlo converge into one line and terminate at Red Hill where there was a water reservoir built in 1914. Further lines within the smaller square appear to crisscross the city suggesting further pipelines but they are unmarked - probably water mains but possibly sewerage or storm drains. Railway lines also cross through the city. Within both squares 4 digit numbers have been stamped to indicate a region or area but there is no legend to interpret these. Relief is shown by contours marked at intervals of 50 feet.
