Notes

Map of Egypt featuring the Nile River Valley and the Red Sea, stretching from Aswan in the south to the Delta in the north. Details provided included the location of emerald mines, ancient ruins, and caravan routes. Many place names are included. Note that the name Missir is a Biblical reference to Egypt south of the ancient city of Thebes, and called the Lower Kingdom or Lower Egypt (as Egypt was historically divided into two lands which were only united under the rule of the pharaohs) and the term was still used by the Turks in the 17th century. It was also said that an Ethiopian dynasty had built a pyramid in "Missir" after conquering it in 790 B.C. Relief is shown pictorially.

"1765".
