Pauline Grigsby born 1951 in Melbourne, Victoria, speaks about her teaching career at Cobden (1972); moving to Harcourt (1984); being a teacher at Harcourt Valley Primary School; teaching at Harcourt North; the pine plantations at both Harcourt North and Harcourt Valley sites; the Kennett government and the closure of many small schools across Victoria; the merger of two Harcourt schools; the first year of Harcourt Valley Primary School; fire destroying the Harcourt North Primary School; how the loss of the building enabled acceptance of new school; Harcourt Valley Primary School operating for two years as two campuses; being member of the 'quality provision' panel; the school being very important aspect of community; the importance of the Harcourt North Primary School grounds; parents and children pushing to preserve their school environment.
