- Prologue
- They said, For us the deeps were stirr'd
- The tyrant of the days and years,
- Beyond the deeps what silence broke?
- It is the coming of the night
- They hunger? give them men to slay:
- — Not this, not this my word to you!
- Because ye sicken of thought (if e'er)
- Let them devour and be devour'd!
- Ere quite the westward shadow fade
- Why are these streets aflare? — Today
- Night: and I lean where the sea sings
- The herded waves are drifting, dark
- When all the ways the worlds have trod
- O life, O radiance, love, delight.
