Geoffrey Bolton, born 1931, is an academic and historian who has held chairs of history at four Australian universities and was foundation professor at the Sir Robert Menzies Centre for Australian History at the University of London. His professional associations include Fellowships of the Royal Historical Society, the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia , the Australian Academy of the Humanities and the Royal Society of Arts. He was ABC Boyer Lecturer in 1992 and Citizen of the Year (professional category), Western Australia 2003. He is an Officer of the Order of Australia and Chancellor of Murdoch University.
