Includes records from the filing system that has been classified into topic areas; the filing system containing: correspondence, memoranda and reports on campaign strategy, submissions and published papers on agro-biotechnology, health impacts of genetically engineered food products, the case for labelling, environmental contamination, patenting, animal welfare, biodiversity and biosafety. Records of the Genetic Manipulation Advisory Committee are also included in the collection. Includes 13 day books containing messages and meeting notes.

The GeneEthics Network was founded in 1988 under the auspices of the Australian Conservation Foundation. In 2003 the Network was formed into the non-profit company, GeneEthics ltd. GeneEthics has operated as a network of groups and individuals to promote critical discussion, education and debate on the environmental, social, economic and ethical issues raised by the use of genetic engineering technologies.
