- Summary:

Ten unbound and signed art prints by ten indigenous Australians chosen from regions visited by the Dutch to produce a permanent record of the 400 years of Dutch contact with Australia. These regions include Melville Island, Arnhem Land, Cape York, Western Australia, Tasmania. The theme is first encounters. Techniques used include photo-lithograph, linocut and hard-ground etchings. From a workshop, 4-8 July 2006 conducted by the Australian Print Workshop.

In March 1606 the Dutch East India Company's vessel, the Duyken (Little dove) landed on the west coast of Cape York Peninsula. Captain Willem Janszoon and his men went ashore to explore the area. This was the first contact with Australia, its land and its people.
