Summary

Lee speaks of her father Jin Jiang Henry who had first mined for tin at Weldborough as his father had done in the 1880's then worked as market gardener in Launceston and later laundry owner in Barrade St., Hobart, how in 1912 he returned to China to visit his mother, again in 1916-17 to marry Mary Lum Lee, Lee's mother, then again in 1918 to bring them both to Tasmania, in 1923 he returned to China to buy property in Canton having already established his wholesale and retail fruit and vegetable business Henry & Co., in 1931 he returned to China with his family to build a home at Dragon Field Village and buy more property returning to Tasmania via Brisbane in 1933, how on this last trip she converted to Catholicism which is a faith that has sustained her since, her marriage to Timothy Tong Lee and raising four children, her activities within the Chinese community and the Church.
