The King's Grave panel includes images of an Aboriginal Australian burial mound and carved trees and the Oxley expedition party. The site was found by the Surveyor-General John Oxley on the 29th July 1817, on his return journey when exploring the Lachlan River. On the 21st July 1913 Edmund Milne and a party of men located one of the carved trees still intact and the lower portion of the other. The two carved trees were removed to the Australian Museum in Sydney and a stone cairn and replica posts were erected to commemorate the Oxley expedition and the discovery of the sacred site. The cairn and posts are located at the Goobothery Hill rest area on the Lachlan Valley Way, 35 km west of Condobolin, New South Wales.
