- The Royal Australian Survey Corps produced some sheets at the 1:100,000 scale in 1962?-65. Cabinet endorsed the national 1:100,000 programme in 1965 and in 1968 the Division of National Mapping (NATMAP) started producing sheets in the series. The Royal Australian Survey Corps continued to contributed sheets to this series but was disbanded in 1996.
- Some sheets produced by the Division of National Mapping. Later sheets produced by AUSLIG and Geoscience Australia.
- Sheets in this series are also catalogued individually.
- Some sheets includes climatic graphs, location map and index to adjoining sheets.
- Some sheets produced by the Division of National Mapping with hill shading and panel title.
- Some RASvy-produced sheets include on verso: 'Survival resources', a colour illustrated guide to local bush foods with location maps. Such sheets were also popularly known as 'snack maps' or 'snackmaps'.
