George W. Norris was born July 11, 1861 in Sandusky County, Ohio. Mr. Norris moved to Nebraska in 1885 and was elected first elected to United States House of Representatives in 1903. Later, in 1913, Norris was elected to the United States Senate. The FBI investigated threatening letters received by or concerning Senator Norris. Additional contact between Senator Norris and the FBI concerned his accusations that an FBI agent had removed papers from Senator Norris's safe. Senator Norris was defeated in the 1943 election and died in 1944.
