Blakeney talks about his family background; Depression; racism at school; origin of name and National Service at 18 followed by regular army. He then talks about his army experiences including duty in Malaya. In 1964 he left the army and worked first for Mayne Nickless and then Blue Mountains County Council before being offered a role in "Homicide". With the start of his acting career he moved to Manly and appeared in "Delta", "Riptide", "Woobinda", "Animal Doctor", "Division 4", "Spyforce" and "Skippy". Blakeney talks about working with scriptwriters to ensure authenticity as regards Aboriginal roles; own ideas and scripts for shows and lack of Aboriginal content in Australian television. He then talks about other acting work such as participation in Captain Cook re-enactment for 1970 bicentennial; portrayal of ghost of Bennelong on opening day of Sydney Opera House in 1973 and his association with Sir Asher Joel. Blakeney then discusses a career change from acting to police work.
He joined the Commonwealth Police in 1977 and he recounts experiences during a duty tour of Cyprus. Blakeney then discusses working with the Australian Protective Services until 1991; boomerang making and throwing; religious beliefs and his plans for the future and his hope to be involved in matters of Aboriginal social justice.
