- Notes:
-
- Initially based on the map of South Eastern Australia as produced by surveyor Thomas Mitchell, this corrected version of Arrowsmith's South Eastern portion of Australia includes the Nineteen Counties extending out around Sydney, including a listing of the county names on the far right of the map above the legend entitled "Routes of travellers into the interior" charting pioneer discoveries from 1817 to 1837. Relief shown by hachures and spot heights.
- This state of the map falls between Tooley's numbers 95 and 96, both of which are also dated 2 August 1838. This state retains the older address (35 Essex St.) of Tooley 95, but otherwise has all the changes to detail otherwise found in Tooley 96, whose address was also updated to 10 Soho Square.
- The changes from Tooley 95 present in this intermediate state (and Tooley 96) are: the detail of Gloucester County has been filled in; the extent of the Australian Agricultural Company's Land is indicated by a key above the list of counties; the 1824-1825 tracks of Hume and Hovell from the Murrumbidgee to Port Phillip are filled in and many features along the route are added or altered compared to Tooley 95; a note just above the confluence of the Murray and Darling Rivers reads "Major Mitchell's furthest N. 2 June 1836; and an additional scale is added at the outside of the bottom of the right margin.
- Plate no. in bottom right corner: "35" (not mentioned by Tooley).
