Lorelei Booker talks about her childhood in the Australian countryside; the influence of her parents; her education; early womens movements and their platform of action; Jesse Street; successes since 1945 including the fight for equal pay; the removal of the Commonwealth marriage bar; jury service for women; the organisations she has been involved with; people she has worked for; the Womens Electoral Lobby; the International Alliance of Women Voters and the South East Asia Womens Assoc. N.S.W. which is largely non political; the future of womens reform.

Biography/History

Lorelei Booker, M.B.E. has held positions within the Board of Australian Federation of Women Voters; the Pan-Pacific and South East Asia Womens Assoc. N.S.W.; the National Council of Women; the Commonwealth Country League; the International Alliance of Women Voters and the Judge Rainbow Memorial Appeal in aid of a half-way house for ex-prisoners.
