Wendy Probert was a full-time activist working from the Campaign Against Racial Exploitation (CARE) office at Walker Press over the period 1977-1980. She performed the role of National Co-ordination of CARE and was also a founding member of the Campaign Against Mining Aboriginal Land (CAMAL) She produced and distributed newsletters, organised national tours of Aboriginal Lands Rights leaders, gaining publicity for developments on these issues in the north of Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia, travelling, organising protests and other events. After leaving CARE, she taught in Zimbabwe for some years. She has had a career as a researcher and lecturer in the biomedical field.
