Rangers comics were first published in Australia by H. John Edwards Publishing, with the main feature of their early issues being Firehair, "adopted daughter of the Dakota Nation" and fierce warrior, by John Starr. Towards the end of H. John Edwards Publishing's run, the theme of the strips turned to war. Once Action Comics took over the publishing of this title, all the stories appear to be about war. The numbered issue where the publisher changes is currently unknown. The NLA has narrowed it down to between issues no. 29-35.
