Parts presented to the Royal Society: 1, on January 12, 1792; 2 on May 3, 1792; 4 & 4 on November 22, 1792; 5 on February 14, 1793; 6 in 1796.

Volume 1 dedicated to Their Majesties the King and Queen of Great Britain &c. &c. &c. as first patrons of the arts and sciences by James Parkinson, proprietor of the Museum Leverianum; Volume 2 dedicated to Sir Joseph Banks.

Volume 1 includes plates of two Australian birds: 7, Psittacus splendidus = Splendid parrot; 36, Pinguinaria patachonica = Penguin.

Volume 2 includes Psittavus terrestris = Ground parrot; Psittacus magnifius = Magnificent cockatoo; Lozia guttata = Spotted-sided grossbeak; and Macropus giganteus = Kanguroo.

National Library of Australia's NK780 copy lacks volume 2; bears the bookplate of Rex de C. Nan Kivell (no. 1792/5); also the armorial bookplate of William Baker.

National Library of Australia's FRM F144a copy lacks volume 1.

National Library of Australia's GMM copy complete; signed, embossed and bearing the bookplate of Gregory M. Mathews; volume 1 inscribed in ink, Robert & Lizzy Dennis, Paignton July 1st, 1890.
