Kunyi McInerney talks about her parents; working at Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital for 7 years; her nursing career; time spent in Port Lincoln; foster parents; concentrating on her artwork, mosaics, art exhibition; heart attack; the Apology, listened to at park by the Torrens River with her children; her thoughts about her mother, brothers, and sisters, some of whom she still hasn't met; Yarritji's book 'Waterfall Girl'; differences in different Aboriginal cultures; accompanying her husband to Brisbane so he could study law; rent arrears; moving out and living in caravan park; Women's shelter; receiving Australia Council grant for $5000 to allow her to paint for exhibition held in Brisbane (c. 1989); using money from sales to move back to Adelaide; Grange Baptist Church; how the Apology has made a difference including raising international awareness of Aboriginal poverty; completing her BA in Aboriginal Studies from University of South Australia (1998).
