- Inscriptions: "Snake Bay, Melville Island, Oct. 1948.12 or 13 newly carved and painted posts surrounding the grave, vary in height from 6 to 15 feet. The colours used are red, yellow ochre, white and black with some blue. At least five spears belonging to the dead man (Mutaninni) are stuck in the ground around the grave."--Label on verso; "Copyright Axel Poignant"--Stamped on verso.
