Summary

David Mills, Indigenous separated child and shearer, born 1941, Mt Barker, WA. Mills was removed at the age of 2 with his older brother and taken to Parkerville Anglican Children's Home, W.A. He describes the living conditions in the Home. At the age of 8, he returned to his mother but the earlier separation made it difficult for them to establish a good family relationship. At the age of 13, Mills left home to work as a shearer. He discusses the effect of childhood separation on his ability to establish and maintain personal relationships.
