Michael Milton discusses his family background and childhood in Canberra; being diagnosed with bone cancer at age 9; treatment, convalescence and losing his leg; difficulties with his school and schooling; his parents' ski shop business; learning about the family business and skiing; the attraction of skiing for him; ski equipment for amputee skiers; the Disabled Ski Association; competing at his first Paralympic Games at age 14; the Lillehammer Paralympic Games (1994); the World Championships (1996, 2009); women in Paralympic skiing; various coaches and other athletes; important influences; descriptions of different skiing disciplines; university studies; marriage (1997); the Salt Lake City Paralympic Games; the Torino Paralympics (2006).

Milton discusses changes in classification; flagbearing at Paralympic Games opening and closing ceremonies; carrying the Olympic and Paralympic torches; taking up recreational and competitive cycling; cycling training; the Australian Track Cycling Championships (2007-8); being diagnosed with oesophageal cancer (2007); surgery; competing at the Beijing Paralympic Games (2008); the Kokoda Track; career highlights; competition achievements, records and medals won; awards and scholarships; Australia's development of skiing for people with a disability; attitudes of Australian sports organisations, society and the media towards athletes with a disability; being a motivational speaker; the difference that sport has made in his life; the effect of his disability on his life; competitiveness within sports for athletes with a disability; changes in the range of disabilities represented in sport; future goals and challenges.
