A bibliography is provided of the materials identified by the consortium participating in the African-American Materials Project. Members of the consortium include: Atlanta University, Fisk University, Hampton Institute, North Carolina Central University, South Carolina State College, and Tuskegee Institute. The materials listed were located in the six states of Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia; each deals with some aspect of Afro-American studies and the collection as a whole covers topics in the areas of art, drama, education, philosophy, religion, literature, science, history and social science. Three major categories of materials are provided--books, periodicals, and periodical articles--and within each category materials are listed alphabetically by author. The collection includes both recent items and some works which date back to the late 18th century and is intended for students and researchers working in the area of African-American studies. (PB)
