- Summary:
-
This paper poses a series of questions to assist programs in deciding what it is about parent involvement that they wish to evaluate. The questions focus on the nature of parent involvement, why parent involvement is needed, and what evaluation of parent involvement should include. A conceptual framework for research on the impact of parent involvement is suggested, and a plea is made for researchers and practitioners to acquire greater conceptual relativity and to look beyond student achievement outcomes as the standard of parent involvement's success.
