Summary

This post high school program development guide considers the following natural resources technological areas: air pollution control, forest, rangeland, minerals and mineral fuels, geological, outdoor recreation, soil, urban-regional planning, landscape, water, wastewater, oceanography, wildlife, fish, and marine life. Within each area, the following topics are discussed: (1) definition, scope, and environmental significance of the resources; (2) a discussion of the competencies required, personal qualities, position titles, and typical duties, types of employers, and employment outlook for technicians educated in the resource area; (3) suggested technical curriculua, including general program considerations, course title and sequence, and brief course descriptions; (4) selected references on the resource, technical, and occupational positions; and (5) a list of selected professional and technical organizations.
