This document is divided into three sections: descriptions of program models, samples of practical materials, and reports of research. Included are papers dealing with such topics as individualized reading diagnosis and instruction on the community college level, junior college reading programs for training teacher aides, an instructional team approach to reading and writing remediation, research on reading test scores and academic success in junior college, and self-concept as a predictor of reading achievement of community college students. The materials include a comprehensive syllabus for reading improvement and materials for inservice diffusion of reading into technical areas and for teaching vocabulary to the business student. (TS)
