"Small folio, with 34 decorative initials in blue red and gold, and 31 woodcut illustrations ..., original quarter brown morocco over Filipino mahogany sides, spine with raised bands, lettered in blind; folding case" -- Horden House.

Translation of his Itinerarium, originally written in French.

"This edition ... is printed from the English edition of 1725, the text of which was taken from a 300 year old manuscript in the Cottonian Library, ... and collated with seven other manuscripts ... and with four old printed editions." -- Colophon.

"The type designed by Rudolph Koch, ... is here used for the first time in America, through the courtesy of Gebrüder Klingspor. The type has been set by Robert Grabhorn and John Gannon, presswork is by Edwin Grabhorn, the binding by William Wheeler." -- Colophon.

"The illustrations were drawn by Valenti Angelo from those in early editions and manuscripts." -- Colophon.

"This edition is limited to one hundred and fifty copies"--Colophon.

"A remarkably handsome edition of the "Travels" by the great American press. Considered one of the three or four greatest books produced at the Grabhorn Press, it was based on a late English edition of 1725. "The type [Koch Bibel Gotisch], designed and cut by Rudolph Koch, was used in America for the first time in this book. The "Travels of Mandeville" was an ideal subject for this type and for simple medieval illustrations of Valenti Angelo that accompany it." -- Horden House.
