Federal programs authorizing educational and occupational information services are listed in this guide designed to assist relevant state agencies and others in securing federal funds for information activities. For each program, a description, address, and legislative reference are presented. Programs of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare include: Educational Information Centers Program, Educational Opportunity Centers, Talent Search, Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education, Community Service and Continuing Education, Adult Education Grants, Lifelong Learning Program, Institutional and Financial Assistance Information for Students, Incentive Grants for State Student Financial Assistance Training, Vocational Education--Program Improvement and Supportive Services, Educational Packaging and Dissemination, Rehabilitation Services--Basic Support, Office for Handicapped Individuals, Education for Gifted and Talented Children and Youth, Women's Educational Equity, Veterans' Cost of Instruction Program, Library Services, Libraries and Learning Resources, Career Education Incentive Act, and Consumers' Education. Programs of the Department of Labor include: Comprehensive Employment and Training Act Programs--Title I and Title III, Youth Employment and Demonstration Programs, Career Information Service Program, and Federal-State Employment Service. Programs of other federal agencies include: Cooperative Extension Service, Community Action, and Indian Employment Assistance. (SW)
