- Summary:
-
A study of a small employee-owned furniture company indicated that the three occupational groups agreed that management should have more influence in decisions affecting the future of the organization. On the other hand, issues which would directly affect employee welfare are seen as areas where control should be fairly evenly divided, with perhaps more power accorded the union. While no clear preference for power equalization between labor and management was evident among any of the three interest groups, there was a preference for the ways in which power should be distributed, with a firm belief in the division of labor with workers working and management managing. If joint labor-management decision making is desirable, both worker owners and management owners still have a long way to go in their efforts. (BN)
