- Summary:
-
Intended as both a theoretical and practical analysis of interpersonal communication, this four-part book presents a framework for communication education and proposes methods for classroom implementation. After an overview of new directions in communication education, the book outlines the foundations of communication education, discusses developing communicative freedom through flexibility training, and suggests an experiential perspective on objectives, evaluation, and grading. The book then subdivides the topics of communication according to authentic communication (A-Group), soft listening, and small group communication. The book concludes with discussions of ways to individualize communication instruction, the encounter group, and communication education through dyadic interaction. A glossary and five pages of reference materials are appended. (MAI)
