- Summary:
-
A didactic simulation for decision-making was adapted for use in a communication course within a business administration program at Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education in Australia. That adaptation process is explained. It is further shown how the simulation summarizes and integrates the content of that course, which deals with the argumentative dimension of communication, and how it relates that course back to its prerequisite, which deals with the relational dimension of communication. Emphasis is placed on the idea of integration of course curricula into simulation exercises. Objectives and content of the unit on argumentation are summarized, and related curriculum issues are briefly discussed. Reaction to the unit, entitled Westernport Simulation Exercise, over the five years of its use is outlined. The exercise outline and a list of references are appended. (MSE)
