- Summary:
-
Intended to inform United Nations member states about the application of electronic recording and replaying devices in the nonformal education domain, this bibliographic study surveys the literature on video. Since the study is meant to be of particular use to decision makers in developing countries, video projects in North America and Western Europe, which account for the majority of all world use, are surveyed only briefly. Information is included about what the decision makers need to know about certain technical aspects of video, as well as about factors affecting decision to use video, and social effects of the use of the medium. The bulk of the study, however, is devoted to bibliographic citations which focus on video applications in Africa, the Arab States, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, and Europe.
