- Summary:
-
The process of "webbing" is described as a valuable technique for organizing teaching activities around a theme. Two examples are illustrated using the broad topics of "change" and "fall." Suggestions are made for carrying out the fall theme by taking children on outdoor walks for the purpose of observing, examining, and collecting materials from nature. Activities involving the study of leaves, trees, seeds, and grasses are described. Instructions are provided for 12 follow-up art activities which use the natural materials collected on the walks.
