This high school level United States history course guide for Vietnamese-speaking students is designed to simplify concepts, build learning confidence, and supplement American history texts so that limited English-speaking students can meet graduation requirements and understand the American heritage. Lesson topics include the changing West (1860-1900), the Pacific Coast region, the Southwest and Rocky Mountain region, the Plains region, the causes and growth of industrialization, the immigrant, World War I, the 1920's, the Great Depression, the 1930's depression years, the beginning of World War II, World War II as a global war, the United Nations, postwar America, the period from Kennedy's "New Frontier" to Watergate (1960-74), and the changes and challenges of recent years and the near future.
