- Summary:

This second edition directory lists 138 year-round precollege and university minority engineering programs that were staffed as of March 1, 1986. Entries were collected through questionnaires mailed to the field. Respondents listed their programs as full-time if professional staff devotes 75% or more of their time to minority engineering work exclusively, or part-time if professional staff is allocated below the 75% level. All data is listed alphabetically by state and city and includes: program acronym or title, sponsoring institutions, address and telephone number, and names and titles of directors and/or other staff. Similar information is provided for eight national organizations involved with minority engineering educational efforts. To ease utilization, indexes by individual's name and program acronym have been included. The questionnaire, a list of National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, Inc. (NACME) donors, names and corporate affiliations of members of the NACME Board of Directors, and the names of NACME officers and staff are provided. (NEC)
