- Summary:
-
This survey gathered data on the salaries, characteristics, locations, and assignments of individual teachers, making it possible to present three kinds of information on salaries and salary structures of United States teachers: (1) average salaries for public school teachers by selected teacher background characteristics, qualifications, location, and assignment; (2) relationships of salary to teaching experience and degree level, the two factors that figure most prominently in local teacher salary schedules in the United States; and (3) differences in salary profiles by race, sex, geographical region, and size of school district.
