- Summary:
-
This simulation allows students to experience the mystery of exploration and the hazards and perils of colonial life. Students are divided into 4- to 6-person colonizing groups. After acquiring some background information they then become colonists. They spend the remainder of the simulation making decisions, working, coping, surviving, and prospering in the New World. Students complete a series of assignments and tests to earn points for their group. The points are traded for supplies in the New World. Each day they select the work to be done, explore, trade, and defend their colony. (Includes a student guide.) (EH)
