This document presents the agreement between the City University of New York (CUNY) and the Professional Staff Congress (PSC) of CUNY, which represents the instructional staff of the institution. The five-year agreement is detailed in 42 articles which address: recognition; CUNY-PSC relationships; unit stability; check-off and agency shop; information and date; a reassigned time; organizational use of facilities; nondiscrimination; appointment and reappointment; schedule for notification of reappointment and non-reappointment; classification of titles; certificate of continuous employment; multiple-year appointments for higher education officers; leaves and holidays; workload; temporary disability or parental leave; jury duty; professional evaluation; personnel files; complaint, grievance, and arbitration procedures; disciplinary actions; increased promotional opportunities; distinguished professorships; salary schedules; research fellowships and scholar incentive awards; welfare benefits; retirement; travel allowances; waiver of tuition fees; facilities and services; rehiring of persons who are discontinued; discontinuances; faculty development; medical series salary schedules; CUNY law school salary schedules; resident salaries; academic calendar; workers' compensation; occupational safety and health; educational technology; no strike pledge; legislative action; 1996-2000 financial provisions; and duration. Appendixes include pertinent sections of a workload settlement agreement and the Educational Opportunities Center agreement. (DB)
