Topics include: (1) a brief overview of the history of copyright; (2) a discussion of copyright components, including fair use guidelines; (3) copyright in libraries, specifically as it relates to reserves and interlibrary loan; (4) copyright in digital environments, including nonprint works, the Internet, and distance learning; (5) formalities and definitions, including copyright notice/registration, duration of copyright, copyright ownership, and requesting permission from the copyright owner; and (6) liability.
