Manuscript music composed by Mirrie Hill (including Chorale for double quartet (woodwind); Cinderella suite: five pieces for wind orchestra; Quartet in A major), Mary Mageau, Elizabeth Pizer, Karl Rankl and David Hush collected by Holford, 1972-1984. 3. Cuttings and articles relating to Professor Noel Nickson, 1984; letter to Holford, 1983 from Betty Beath; agreement between Holford and J. Albert and Sons Pty Ltd., 1968 and other papers.
- Biography/History:

Australian composer primarily of songs and piano music. Claimed to have been born in Heidelberg, Germany and moved to Australia in the late 1930s. Holford was actually born in Petersham, Sydney. He composed works for piano, cello and voice, performed in Australia and overseas. Holford founded the Australian journal of music, the Canon in 1948, and was its editor until 1965. He was classical music editor for the music publishing house of Albert and Sons until 1980. A member of various music committees Holford was also active as an eisteddfod adjudicator.
