Michael Harvey, born in Westminster, England during WWII talks about a discrepancy in his birth date; his understanding of why he and his twin brother were put into care; the broader reasons for child migration; St Joseph's Home, Enfield, Middlesex London, his memories of the home; the effect of being institutionalised on his parenting; the Blitz and Home Guard; his schooling; the circumstances of being sent to Australia; the trip on the SS Ormonde, the separation of Protestant and Catholic children on board; reads his poem called "I want my boys home"; interactions with the boys he migrated out with; their arrival at Boys Town, Glenorchy, Tas. (30 boys); schooling, discipline, hunger, cruelty, abuse, corporal punishment; favouritism and recreation; the Salesian Brothers; his work history after leaving the home; his efforts to locate family and obtain records; finding his mother (1995) through the Child Migrant Trust; Margaret Humphries; travelling to England with brother to meet their mother and her family; his Australian citizenship; the apologies by Prime Ministers Gordon Brown and Kevin Rudd; a media interview; his thoughts on the future.
